The Green Tree Restaurant

The Green Tree Restaurant

I recently met my illustrious web site designer, Sharon Alexander, at the Green Tree Restaurant and enjoyed their cheesy potato soup along with their house made turkey club quiche, one of my all time favorites, served with a side of ranch dressing for dipping.

Cheesy Potato Soup

This is a great meeting place and I frequented it for years when it was Grinders. The owners have spruced up both the interior and the exterior, they have made it an even more comfortable place to hang out with family and friends.

Their menu is similar to Grinders’ featuring tasty chicken dishes, a wide range of salads and a few shrimp and seafood selections. And they have a couple of steaks: a Flat Iron and a New York Strip. I have not yet tried either, but the word from friends is that they are tender and juicy.

What meal would be complete without a scrumptious dessert. Their yummy homemade cheesecake comes in caramel or chocolate, but they also have bread pudding topped with brown sugar and caramel. If you haven’t gotten a sugar high yet, try the homemade fudge. That should get your sugar level busting through the stratosphere! Their Harvester cake brings back memories of the old Harvester Restaurant that was located down the street at the newly renovated Carlisle Building.

A visit in and around the new Chillicothe downtown certainly warrants a stop at The Green Tree Restaurant located at 85 N. Paint Street in Chillicothe, OH. You might want to stop by for lunch or dinner. Check out their web site at

And tell them that I recommended them!
