I knew nothing about herbs or how to identify them until I read this book. This is a must buy if you are interested in understanding the characteristics of each herb in more detail. I would like to see a more in-depth follow-up on this book from Karen Patterson touching on the medicinal application of herbs and how to use these herbs to enhance your cooking skills. A++

This book is Patterson at her best. Not only is this book thorough, insightful and knowledgeable, it gives the reader a new meaning to the word "herb." Patterson writes in an easy to read style with each to reference organization. Her next move should be to write a sequel with more detail on the specifics of herbal use.
